My little India- Oak Tree Road

I decided that I should give the girls a taste of India and taking them to Oak Tree Road felt like the perfect way to do so. We first went to a clothing store and I described all the different types of indian dresses such as anarkali dresses, lehengas, sarees, and punjabi suits (salwar kameez). Afterwards, I took them to a jewelry store and they were able to clearly see the different designs that come with indian jewelry. Lastly, we went to go eat at an indian restaurant and the girls got to eat samosas, a fried potato with onions and peas. For dessert the girls had rasgullas which is a syrupy sweet ball of sugar. My friends were able to compare American food to Indian food and discover how different the two are. Just by visiting an area with Indian stores, my friends got to see different aspects of the indian culture. The clothes, food, and jewelry are a part of my everyday life and I love that I can share my culture with my friends.
