A Little Taste of Home "Bandeja Paisa"
For my part of the project I wanted to take the girls to one of my favorite authentic Colombian restaurants. In order to do that exactly I knew all the best restaurants are located in a local area in Elizabeth. The restaurant that we went to was Parador Rojo, a small restaurent which can typically can get very crowded during the weekends but that serves home-style, delicious food. When we went there I ordered my favorite platter "Bandeja Paisa" which offers a sample of everything I love about Colombian food. It contains rice, meat, fried pork, colombian sausage, arepa (made out of cornmeal flour), plaintains, a fried egg, avacado, and beans. Whenever I go out this is the dish I always gravitate to because of how much it has to offer and how good it is. Even though Jojo and Mandip ordered a different plate I gave them a few bites off my plate so they would also get to experience the deliciousness of the Bandeja Paisa.
