Indian Wedding Invitation
I recently got an invitation for a wedding that is comming up in May. There are many parts to an Indian wedding and I am so excited to go to every one of them. Traditionally, the wedding ceremony occurs at the holy temple (the Gurdwara). There is a prayer and sangeet leading up the wedding day. The prayer is held one day and is basically a day to gain God's blessing for this union of two people. The sangeet is an event that focuses on music and dancing that celebrates the upcomming wedding. At the sangeet, one could also get henna done on their hands. The bride usually tends to get henna done all over her arms and hands. Then there is the wedding. The wedding is held at the holy temple and the couple circles around the holy book four times while the prayers are sung. The best part of an Indian wedding is the reception. The reception for this wedding in particular is held on a yacht and it is a night of dancing under the stars. An Indian wedding primarily consists of God's blessing, dancing, and fun.
