A Look Inside a Sikh Temple
For the first time in my life I had the opportunity to go to a Sikh Temple. Driving there I didn't know what to expect, how it looked or how different it was compared to my own church. When we arrived to the temple at first it looked like a normal building but once you stepped inside you could tell this was a place of worship. The steps that we took before even entering the temple was something new and different to what I am used to in my santuary. We had to take of our shoes, wash our hands, and make sure our heads were covered, all in respect for the Sikh God. Inside their place of worship Mandip's mom explained to us the history behind their beliefs and customs and an overview of what would happen in an a Sunday Service. We also bowed down in reverence of the Holy Book. Finally, everyone went back down to the cafetaria and enjoyed some sweet dessert called prasad with some Indian tea.
